My name is Emily Victoria

For years I have been thinking about starting a blog, a website, whatever this is! Facebook seems a little too ‘sheer’ for the majority of what I’m interested in talking about, so here we go!

I first wanted to start a wordpress site after subscribing to a few different food blogs, specifically the Minimalist Baker. At the end of the year in 2018, the good people at Minimalist Baker send out an email explaining that they wanted to help other people figure out how to make their own websites…I followed and read some of their resources, but didn’t act until now September 2021! They still have great recipes and resources for bloggers, found here.

Why do I want to blog?

  • I want to share good food. I love to cook healthy simple food. Back in 2018 I wanted to start a blog about healthy cooking in an office kitchen; only equipped with a toaster oven, microwave, and occasionally a slow cooker and electric griddle. Luckily I am not longer constrained to those tools when working 12 hours a day 7 days a week!
  • I can’t help but observe things that should be considered for improvement. I love to discuss ideas, but I find my audience is limited.
  • I was finally pushed to start my own blog through my concerns about long-duration facemask use. My kids are mandated to wear masks 7 hours a day 5 days a week for 9 months of the year. I have researched facemasks since March 2020, I’ve made them on a sewing machine, I’ve invested in them, but since February 2021, I am DONE with them. A humans ability to get oxygen and fresh air beats out any concerns for viral particles. In order to be healthy, oxygen and fresh air are essential.

So initially this blog will be dominated by my own research on the safety of facemasks. Don’t worry, I’ll sprinkle in other topics as well. Uplifting topics such as good food, good music, good books. You’ll get some pretty pictures. I’ll share DIY projects. Probably even cool destinations in nature. In summary, I’ll share my version of the good life!

Reality is what we make it. No one has the right to tell you what your reality should be. As long as you aren’t hurting anyone! I accept of a lot of things, just not force or violence.

O yeah, one last thing…I’ve tried to avoid politics for most of my life, while still being an active citizen. In July 2020 I decided to find my political home, and I was so pleased to find the Libertarian Party. Here’s why:

  • The federal government gets too much of our money
  • The federal government wastes the money that we are required to give them
  • The federal government is too powerful
  • The federal government uses their power to please politicians and lobbyists, they do not serve the people of the United States
  • Most politicians have some awful scandal they are trying to keep from the public
  • Local government should be the vehicle for getting things done in a community
  • Public schools are failing
  • The federal government destroys diversity

I had a lot of experiences in my life, I am blessed to have a healthy family and a good job. I hope to share some of my experiences and find some more friends.

With all of my honesty, may we all find truth and happiness.
